The release features the songs "Conquer Divine", "Blood Oath", "Life is War" and a cover of CARNIVORE's Misanthropy Anthem "Race War. This MCD features Vincent Crowley (ACHERON, CROWLEY), Kyle Severn (INCANTATION, ACHERON), Lord Ahriman (DARK FUNERAL), Thomas Thorn and Rictor Ravensbruck(THE ELECTRIC HELLFIRE CLUB). | Legions of Hatred... The long awaited WOLFEN SOCIETY MCD "Conquer Divine" is now out in Europe on NO FASHION RECORDS. The American version is due out in a month or so. The USA version on House of Death Records will have different band photos and some different layout stuff. The true hordes of Hate will get both versions! The CD's will be available to purchase from the band personally here at the website. WOLFEN SOCIETY merchandise (T-shirts, Long Sleeve, ect.) should be available soon in Europe on RAZAMATAZ merchandising and from the band directly for the rest of the world. The long awaited WOLFEN SOCIETY mini-CD "Conquer Divine" has a release date now! It scheduled to be out by January 2002. But some distributors are having problems with the aesthetics and imagery of the band. They fear the band has some hidden agenda. Former WOLFEN SOCIETY member Thomas Thorn has written a statement to set the records straight.
STATEMENT OF INTENT RE: WOLFEN SOCIETY - "CONQUER DIVINE" In regard to questions concerning the philosophical motivations behind and surrounding the WOLFEN SOCIETY project, I can unequivocally state that neither myself nor any other the other individuals involved have ANY connections to any political groups and/or ideologies.
WOLFEN SOCIETY is/was a conceptual project based on misanthropy - that is to say, the hating of mankind as a whole. Lyrically, graphically and musically this project puts forth the concept of Satanic elitism by employing the metaphor of wolves preying upon ignorant sheep. This is an elitism based on intelligence and predatory instinct as opposed to race, creed, or ethnicity. Our choice to include a cover version of the Carnivore song "Race War" was based purely on its misanthropic content and its cleverly satirical lyric concerning mankind's innate urge to destroy itself. Neither the song, nor its title are a call to arms or an advocation of racial pogrom. On the contrary, the song deftly illustrates the ridiculousness and futility of such a mindset. As the lyric states: "EVERYBODY's going to die". There is no victory implied and all races are treated with equal derision. I am a personal friend of the song's composer, Peter Steele of Type O Negative, and know him as a fellow misanthrope who certainly does not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity. All segments of the human race are utterly contemptuous in our eyes.
The fact that a simple musical release could face censorship due to such an exchange of ideas or juxtaposition of images is a manifestation of the reactionary victim culture that WOLFEN SOCIETY was initially conceived to oppose, and irrefutable proof of the need for such a project to exist.

WOLFEN SOCIETY NEWS Well, the long awaited WOLFEN SOCIETY mcd "Conquer Divine" has finally got a release date on NO FASHION RECORDS for January 2002. It will be released on HOUSE OF DEATH RECORDS (USA) and NO FASHION RECORDS (Europe). The band is presently working on a merchandise deal, so WOLFEN SOCIETY shirts will hopefully be available in the near future. Thomas Thorn and Ricktor Ravenbruck of THE ELECTRIC HELLFIRE CLUB have officially left the band. Aaron Werner of ACHERON will be replacing Thorn, while the band will be looking for a new Lead Guitarist. WOLFEN SOCIETY wishes Thorn and Ravensbruck the best of luck. |
